New York governor vows to close legal loophole after Cornell gang rape allegations

Following public outcry over an alleged gang rape at Cornell University in 2024, New York Governor Kathy Hochul called for closing a loophole in state law that allows offenders to avoid rape charges if their victims were willingly intoxicated.
