Eight people were killed and 34 wounded when gunmen opened fire during a funeral at a church in Jordan’s Karak governorate on Friday, the country’s Public Security Directorate said, with King Abdullah II describing it as a “terrorist attack”. In a statement on Saturday, Jordan's Health Ministry said that 27 people were still receiving treatment in hospital. The directorate's head, Maj Gen Abdallah Al Maaytah, said the search for the attackers was continuing.
