Today, at the Cundill History Prize Festival in Montreal, the jurors awarded the 2026 Cundill History Prize, which celebrates "outstanding history writing," to John Doe Chinaman: A Forgotten History of Chinese Life under American Racial Law by Beth Lew-Williams.
